Vasectomy reversal results
Unfortunately, many men who have a vasectomy will later regret the decision, and vasectomy reversal is now rarely available on the NHS. Mr Mike Foster has extensive experience in this procedure and undertakes around 30 vasectomy reversals each year.
Our audited results from more than 100 procedures show very good results can be obtained if the procedure is undertaken by an experienced surgeon. The procedure is performed as a day case and is available at The Priory and Little Aston Hospitals.
The measurement used is patency rate, which is an assessment of whether there is any sperm production. This is different to pregnancy rates, as the ability to conceive is a reflection of female fertility as well as male fertility. Patency rate alone is the best indication of whether the vasectomy reversal procedure has been successful or not.
Our audited results over four years, show an average patency rate of 81 per cent following vasectomy reversal.
