Prostate cancer surgery
We have extensive experience in the treatment of prostate cancer, having completed more than 2,000 prostatectomies, one of the largest surgical caseloads in the UK. Our consultant urological surgeon Mr Alan Doherty specialises in laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, which enables patients to make a more rapid recovery, and nerve-sparing prostatectomy.
Full spectrum of prostate cancer treatments
We offer the full range of established treatments for prostate cancer, including brachytherapy, external beam radiotherapy and HIFU and can offer therapies for men diagnosed with advanced prostate and kidney cancer.
GreenLight laser treatment
GreenLight laser prostate surgery is now taking over from the older TURP procedure as the treatment of choice for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (enlarged prostate). The Birmingham Prostate Clinic was the first to introduce this approach in the West Midlands and has now completed more than 500 procedures.
Erectile dysfunction and andrology treatments
We offer effective treatments for men with impotence and erectile dysfunction including penile implant surgery for those with the most severe problems. We have extensive experience in the treatment of Peyronie’s disease. We also specialise in the treatment of urethral strictures and treatments for lichen sclerosus in men.
