In annual evaluation from patients of a major insurer, the care provided by a BPC surgeon Mr Alan Doherty was rated as “excellent” by every single respondent.

The feedback was gathered by BUPA to assess the experience of patients with their insurance who were treated at the Birmingham Prostate Clinic. A total of 13 patients completed the evaluation and every single one gave BPC consultant urological surgeon Mr Doherty the highest rating of “excellent” care.

Their comments included:

My consultant is very experienced and gave me confidence that all would be well.
Very clear explanations, answered questions. Sensitive. Patient well-being obviously important to Mr Doherty. He involved my wife also and concerned about her needs throughout the process.
I was very impressed with the competence of my consultant. I think that he has performed an excellent operation.
I was very happy with the quality of service and treatment I received from Mr Alan Doherty and I am convinced that this wonderful surgeon has given me my life back.

BPC commercial director Dr Richard Newland commented: “To receive a 100 per cent ‘excellent’ evaluation is a very notable achievement.
