Impotence and Erectile Dysfunction

Impotence, also known as erectile dysfunction, is very common.

It is defined as the inability to achieve an erection sufficient for penetrative sex and maintain the erection during sexual activity. Around one in 10 men are affected, although the condition becomes much more common and severe later in life.

By the age of 40, half of all men will experience impotence at some point. Fortunately, this is an area where there have been very substantial improvements in treatments during recent years.

We offer a wide range of investigations and treatments, including injections, vacuum devices and for men with the most severe and complex problems, penile implant surgery.

As well as treating impotence and erectile dysfunction, we also specialize in Peyronie’s disease treatments, for a condition which affects three in one hundred men and usually causes a varying degree of erectile dysfunction.

A smaller but significant number of men now experience erectile dysfunction as a result of obesity causing a condition known as buried penis.
